born out of the love for design, colour, and this awesome world we live in, Isla Designs was established in tropical, laid back durban in 2010.
Having lived in and travelled to various cities around the world, I find inspiration in my extraordinary surroundings: stark arid beauty of the karoo landscape; lush tropical coastal dunes of kwazulu natal; chaotic colour and smiles of lagos; soft misty drizzle curtaining ancient buildings in edinburgh and of course the frenzy ,lights and people of london town.

there is always something that will capture my attention and get the creative juices flowing….what you see here is my interpretation, and I love sharing it with you all by offering you a beautiful, hand crafted alternative to mass produced decor items and fun kids toys.
my designs are unique, and I handmake each piece myself… my heart and soul goes into each item, ensuring that the final product is of the quality I would expect to purchase myself.

the products you see on this site are reproduced as stock, however, each item will have a slightly different design element allowing it to have its own unique character…. the one it was born to have.

it is so exciting for me as a designer to be handed a challenge…. so bespoke orders are encouraged - I am able to personalise any of the designs or items to suit your needs.
